本周我們學(xué)習(xí)和知名度相關(guān)的詞匯

1. popularity /?pɑ?pj??ler?ti/

n. 受歡迎度；知名度

搭配補(bǔ)充：gain / lose popularity

rise in popularity 知名度上升

e.g. Online courses have gained popularity in recent years.

e.g. Traditional rote learning is gradually losing popularity.

e.g. The band has enjoyed an unstoppable rise in popularity.

補(bǔ)充：rote learning 死記硬背的學(xué)習(xí)方式

adj. popular 受歡迎的

e.g. There is a popular misconception that cats cannot swim.

e.g. The film star is very unlike the popular image of him in the press.

補(bǔ)充： misconception n. 錯(cuò)誤觀念;誤解

2. well-received

adj. 反饋好的；評(píng)價(jià)積極的

搭配：be well-received by+人

be well-received for +原因

e.g. Her teaching style is well-received by learners of different levels.

e.g. The lecture was well-received for its clear structure.

近義表達(dá)：be highly regarded高度評(píng)價(jià)的

e.g. The movie is highly regarded by viewers.

3. fame/fe?m/

n. 名聲；名望

搭配：gain/achieve /seek fame 獲得/追逐名聲

rise to fame 迅速走紅

e.g. She rose to fame overnight.

e.g. Some people seek fame through social media.

其他補(bǔ)充： pay the price of fame 為名氣付出代價(jià)

Fame comes at a price. 成名是有代價(jià)的

e.g. Celebrities pay the price of fame by losing their privacy.

e.g. The price of fame often includes a loss of privacy and constant pressure from the public.

4. notoriety /n??t?'ra??t?/

n. 聲名狼藉;臭名昭著

e.g. He achieved instant fame and notoriety with the release of his film.

e.g. He gained notoriety for his ruthless business tactics.

搭配補(bǔ)充：undeserved notoriety 不應(yīng)有的負(fù)面名聲

e.g. The celebrity suffered undeserved notoriety due to rumors.

adj. notorious /n?(?)'t??r??s/ 臭名昭著的

搭配：be notorious for 因…而臭名遠(yuǎn)揚(yáng)

e.g. The city is notorious for its traffic jams.

e.g. The company is notorious for exploiting its workers.

補(bǔ)充：exploit v. 剝削
