當地時間5月4日，伊朗伊斯蘭革命衛隊海軍當天公布了一份霍爾木茲海峽地區的新地圖。
伊朗伊斯蘭革命衛隊海軍表示，由伊朗武裝力量控制和管理的霍爾木茲海峽新區域范圍為：
南界為，連接伊朗穆巴拉克山（Kuh-e Mobarak）與阿聯酋富查伊拉（Fujairah）南部的連線；
西界為，連接伊朗格什姆島（Qeshm Island）末端與阿聯酋烏姆蓋萬（Umm Al Quwain）的連線。
