英文里86不僅僅是個數字，而且還是個俚語，意思是“把某人趕走；拒絕提供服務；干掉”。（比如餐廳說“86 the soup”就是“這道湯沒了/不賣了”）。

關于它的來歷，有如下幾種說法：

1?. 在20世紀中期的美國餐飲業里，86被用作廚房暗號，表示某樣菜賣完了或不要再上了。比如：86 the steak = 牛排賣完了 / 別再做了。后來這個用法擴展到人：He got 86’d from the bar ，表示“他被酒吧趕出去了”

2. 紐約有家名叫Chumley’s的地下酒吧，地址在86 Bedford Street。遇到警察來查，就從后門溜走。所以86就變成了“趕緊消失；把人清走”的意思。

3. 有人考證，86”可能和“nix”（取消、弄掉、干掉）押韻，因此，當表達“to nix something”的時候，就用86來代替。

4. 也有人說，86是指紐約市服務業的一項管理條例，其中第86條規定了某些情況下，酒吧可以拒絕為某些人服務的情形。

上述說法，不管誰更真實，總之，86的意思就是refuse, reject, get rid of, kill。知道了這個梗，我們來看下面一段新聞：說的是前FBI的頭科米，在被特朗普解雇之后，有一天在社交媒體上，突然發了一條推，只有四個字，即8647。上面我們剛剛普及了86這個俚語的來歷，現在說說47。其實，47正好是現任總統特朗普的任期數，他是第47任美國總統。因此，科米想表達的含義應該很清楚了，也就是“搞掉；拒絕特朗普”。

The sooner this case is tossed and this sorry episode forgotten, the better.
